about three months ago i ran into the same situation only mine was with a samba. my instructer gave me some very good advise when i asked her about it; try dancing to it and see if you feel comfortable with it. in my case the song was to fast for me to comfortably add style, so while it was a samba it was not a samba for me. ask yourselfdo i feel rushed with my cuban motion, will i be able to get my arms fully extended, etc. etc.. these are the questions my instructer asked me and they worked very well. secondly, does it have to be cha cha? or could it be you really like this song and should be working on what dance best fits it and you at the same time? if you really love the song you will love dancing to it and that will show. thank you and have a good day

One COULD hear a Cha Cha Cha in that song, but it's at a speed of 40 bars a minute, where Cha Cha Cha should not be over 33. So in my opinion it would be too fast. In my classes I use it as a Mambo.

Don't hear a cha-cha either - I agree with the mambo.

There are enough syncopations in that song to do cha cha, but it really doesn't fit well except in a very short segment. And yep, speed is 160 bpm (40 bars/min). This will be a real workout if you can do it. Way too fast for a smoothgeezer. Anything over about 130 is too fast for me. Mambo is a much better choice. Nice song though.
