Help! The studio I was teaching in is closing and I'm now going to start teaching on a freelance basis but I need insurance. Any suggestions on where to go? Web links?

Hi,
Type 'Perkins Slade' into any search engine.

Thanks. I took a quick look. As they are a UK business do they cover US dancers?

Just go to any insurance outlet. We go to the people that handle our home/car insurance.

There are only a few companies offering Dance Teacher Insurance.

The outlets are resellers.

Shop several to see if you can get a bargain.

We're in Canada and pay approx. $650 for $2 million liability coverage.

Are you a member of any of the dance teacher associations? Some of these include cover in their membership, others have special arrangements with insurers.
It is a specialist market. If the insurers do not fully understand the market they may put you in the "entertainment" industry with vastly inflated costs.

No, I'm not associated with any dance organizations.

Thank you all for your help.
