Does it have to be an 80's song? All the good bolero songs I know are Spanish. Here in the US, those songs don't make it onto the pop charts, so most people aren't really familiar with them and don't know when they were written. So does it matter?
Here are a few good bolero songs. See if any of these are to your liking. Most of these are outside the recommended 96 to 104 bpm recommended range for bolero, but I find I like these speeds better. It gives more time to add in all the fancy movements characteristic of bolero. If you like something faster, maybe look for a slow rumba with bolero characteristics. If you don't have a lot of fancy movements to fill in that time, maybe a faster song would be better.
