i have a question i would like to know if someone knows !
i attended some classes just to have an overlook on flamenco dance just to have an overview on what that dance looks like ! while i was attending the classes i continued my classes in latin -ballroom dancing ! and my instructor and teacher and the whole group so a very very improovemnt in technique and style ! when i was having the lessons in flamenco i had a very tough time learning all that stuff they have with hands and the style of the body ! my question is :
do realy dances like flamenco can improove your style in latin dancing ? i am new in flamenco but i don't know a lot on both !

every dance form you learn contributes to your education as a dancer. you made a basic experience that should lead you to look at other dance forms, too. the broader your view on dancing is the more success you´ll have and the more fun you´ll get. be careful, as a beginner you should not overpower but do things step by step.

Another aspect here is that all known dance forms have a family tree and there are several connection and junctions where they derive from each other.

e.g. flamenco has elements from india cause it was brought over by gypsies to spain. nowadays flamenco itself has strong influence on paso doble.

As someone have already pointed out, any new style you learn makes you a better dancer in general. However, I don't think that learning Flamenco would be particularly helpful to Latin, I mean, not any more helpful than learning classical ballet. The posture and weight management is completely different, and the arms are very different too. It might help your Paso a little bit, but you will have to be very aware of the fact that Paso is not Flamenco.

I started taking Flamenco to help with my Paso Doble and I found that what it really did was absolutely improve my arms and the way I used my hands.

A lot of the movements are similar such as the Cucarachas etc...in Rhumba. I thought it really gave me a good workout in skills that are easily ignored...that being said it needs to be a good Flamenco teacher or you really aren't going to get much out of it because the footwork doesn't really add to your ballroom repertoire.

Just my opinion...
