I would like to ask as to how to keep our wood dance floor not too slippery for the dancers. We have stopped applying floor wax for about 2 months now since we opened and the floor has still been slippery.

Have you ever heard of Paraffin Wax. Sprinkle on the floor with a grater, one of those thing for grating. The Parafffin Wax will disappear with being trodden in. That is the method we all use here.

It begs the Q-- which kind of wax did you use ?

Also, what kind of wood flooring ? -- The grain has a lot to do with absorption.
Traditionally, Parafin wax is the norm.

Suggest you strip floor, buff lightly, and apply one coat Parafin.== leave for 24hrs . Buff again .

Do NOT apply wax, onto a polyurethane surface .

Yes, be very carefull with whatever surface you have. Artificial boards the kind you can buy from a hardwear store which clip together can be very slippery. Paraffin Wax is the accepted way to go. Even when dancing on a vynal tilled floor.
