American Smooth Shoes

Hi,
I am new to this board, but I have gotten alot of information from the people on here.

My question is, what is the best shoe for American smooth? I have a pair of supadance court shoes that I used for competiting in International, but I think I need something more "flexible".

I saw on showtimedanceshoes.com that International makes an american smooth shoe & supadance has some similar. I don't want to waste more money...

Any suggestions?

Smooth shoes are usually open at the sides to provide more flexibility. Most shoe companies make them, so whatever shoe you like in a court shoe, I'd check into smooth shoes by the same maker.

I wear Amys After 5 brand. They have American smooth as well as international style shoes. I have worn their American smooth style shoes before and was very pleased with them. They are fully padded from the heel to the toe and unlike other brands I've tried the padding does not flatten out right away so it stays cushioned longer. They are a fairly new brand but I find them to be more comfortable and made of better materials then even the top brands. And they are 1/2 the price of the top brands! (About $70) Plus my balance improved when I started wearing them and they don‘t wear out as fast as other brands. I defiantly recommend giving them a try. If they don't have want you want in stock they can often times special order shoes for you. I did this once with a pair of Latin shoes that I wanted in a different color and heel height. Just email them and ask if you don't find what you are looking for on their website.

Hope this helps!
