I love my old shoes

i have an old pair of shoes that i really like - they are molded to my foot and everything - stretched out- so comfortable - but in the last few weeks the heel has gotten bigger and doesn't hold in my heel any more - it has lost it's support - is there any thing i can do to regain the tightness/ support that my shoe once had?

thanks

dunk 'em in water and put them on the radiator (or in the dryer)?

You can try heel grips--pads that go inside the heel cup and make the shoe fit more snugly. I prefer Dr. Scholls, the grey ones.

You can try the above suggestions but I don't recommend that because if your shoes are as worn out as you say they are then they are probably no longer giving you the support you need even with “quick fix tips”. Did you know many people recommend that you get new dance shoes about every year or so as the shoes shape themselves to the way your foot danced a year ago! They say that getting new shoes about every year can actually help improve your dancing especially if your are working on your footwork at the time you get new shoes.

I recommend getting shoes from amysafter5.com as they are fully padded from the heel to the toe and unlike other brands I've tried they stay cushioned longer. They are a fairly new brand but I find them to be more comfortable and made of better materials then even the top brands. And they are 1/2 the price of the top brands! (About $70) Plus my balance improved when I started wearing them and they don‘t wear out as fast as other brands. I defiantly recommend giving them a try. You will most likely fell a difference in the support of the shoe as well as your over all balance. Hope this helps. Happy dancing!
