Spotting and Spinning

I am a beginner, and my teacher has been working on getting me to spin in a swing routine. She's really helpful, but I was wondering if there are any tips any of you can give me regarding how to learn to spot. I get motion sickness really easily, so this has been quite a struggle. I've even thought of taking Dramamine before every practice!

Sheryl. If you go to Learning Centre on this site and find Spins and Turns. You will find there all you need to know including an animated image of a Spin and Spotting. Have your printer loaded with paper there are many pages you will wish to copy.
As a practise thing you may do several Spins one after the other. first to the left and then to the right making sure you do spin in a straight line staying on the same floorboards. But in a routine you probably will do no more than about three. Good Luck there.

Thank you for the heads-up on the learning Center link. I printed it out, and am going through the exercises. My husband and I did a swing demo last night for a local dance club, and was able to apply what I have practiced so far. It made a huge difference!
