Congrats! My first showcase was a rumba. :] Here are some tips I've got:
1)Get into the dance. Put your heart into. Show the emotions of the dance.
2)Stay on the balls of your feet. No heel leads.
3)I don't know if you have gotten this far, but if you have use Cuban Motion.
4)Most of all just have fun! The more fun you have with the dance, the better it will turn out.

:]

Good Luck!

LFCirllo. Everytime you have a spare minute go for a walk around the floor on your own , preferably to music. When Karen Hardy was asked how often should you do Rumba Walks. The answer was forever. Not much advice can be given in writting. There is one thing. From the front only one leg should be seen. If both legs can be seen then your foot position is not LF pointing to 11 and the RF is not pointing to 1. Keep the knee pointing in the direction you are moving to. Don't let it follow the foot.
I'll add a little more. I got this from Alan Fletcher. Do one Rumba Walk and freeze. Be absolutely motionless. Stay like that an analyse exactly what you are doing. For instance is the rear hip higher than the standing hip. Have you got the correct turn out of the feet. Then do another walk. How did you get into a neutral position and then to get the other hip the highest.
Alans words were in Tokyo. The Karte master showed a student a position and said stay there for two hours and I will come back and show you how to move to the next position. Good Luck.

Thank you!! I really appreciate it! The tips are very helpful! The Rumba walk is very important and I don't want to get in the habit of my feet being in the wrong position because that will be hard to break it. Thank you! :O)
