The reason there are no answers-- you have a question that does not compute--

I think she means Pivot Turns. When people are just begining to learn sometimes they get confused about names ,steps, ect....remember?

I just took a dance class last night (my very first one). We did a promenade with a spin (I think haha) We were learning the foxtrot. You both take to slow steps then two quick steps. However, the womans two quick steps would be the turn. You are not facing eachother. You both turn your bodies in the same direction...its hard to put into works (heck i just learned it last night haha)

I would have to agree with terrence2.
It sounds like a promenade with a pivot turn. It is usually done in a corner to change the line of dance. If its the one I'm thinking of both people turn together while in closed dance position.

Promenade with a spin is actually Promenade with an underarm turn ending. Both partners start with a promenade walk two slow steps, then the man leads his partner to an underarm turn on the two quick step. To actually finish this step, you do another promenade walk. So it goes slow-slow quick-quick(turn) Slow-slow quick-quick. Call me if you have any other question. I know it's hard when you are starting, I can probably be of help. I will leave my number when you reply to this message - gbg

Congrats on your first Foxtrot lesson as it is a great dance; one of my most favorites. And, indeed if you are this new to dancing, welcome to the community.
As for promenade with spin, there is no such a thing. As you commence to spin from PP, as a leader, you cut in front of the follower, so you get back into dance position, as she steps right into you and powers the pivot. If you chose to do multiple pivots, then partners stay in the dance position and exit in the either closed or PP.
Just the pure physics of the pivoting motion and the need for oppositions within the partnership, makes it impossible or utterly uncomfortable and unnatural to pivot in PP.
I hope this helps………..r.
