In my humble opinion I always try to have my students in whatever dance slightly tighten or activate there abdominals.
In rhythm/latin the pushing into the floor will hopefully help that as it does to a lesser extent in smooth.I was told that to enhance and maintain balance you must have core stabilty so I use a pilates method in bringing the belly button in towards the spine a little.
That in itself will help with correct posture, frame and alignment.
