What is the proper hold for you hands in salsa. I have seen all different ones and I am wondering which is the best. Also the ladies hand is always over the gentlemens hand or is it the opposite?

Terence. Just recently on the cable we have had two one hour programs of Salsa World Championships. One. The stuff they were doing wouldn't be allowed in a normal club, only on a competition floor. These dancers danced solo with their partners. Two. The ladies were, I would say were former gymnasts, and the guys, who where all very young must have had some training in Exhibition Dancing. Never the less it was very spectacular and when they created a picture step it was afterwards shown how the lady had not finished her line and remarks of that nature. It was very spectacular never the less.

Very popular at congresses for shows.

NEVER seen in " latin " clubs in the states ( lots of spins are also in vogue ) .

It also depends on the style being danced... LA is more conducive than Cuban . And, of course, it appeals more
to the "younger " set .

None the less.... many of us are opposed to it, no matter what the style or venue .
