Music To Dance to

I am due in December to do a demonstration of ballroom dancing for my school and I would like to do something a bit unusual.

Does anyone know of any music that might be good. I was thinking of some heavy metal, or children's TV theme tune (you get the idea!)

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks

Angela

Metallica's "Enter Sandman" is a heavy metal cha cha... are you trying to frighten the children ?

You can dance foxtrot to "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch."

I have to hear that cover . Another odd cover I hear once was Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step," and it was a quickstep.

I am actually in the process of putting together a list of "popular" songs and what can be danced to them, starting with the billboard top 100 from last year. If you wanted something really recent, I could share some of that.

If you are a little wary about trusting an amatuer's ear on this, then there are also a few really good posts on this site listing more "modern" songs as well. What dances did you want to demonstrate? I'd be glad to share what I have so far if you want...

Porfirio, there's also a fast lindy cover of "Enter Sandman." I played it at a party once and when people realized what song it was they nearly died laughing.

I've always wanted to see someone do a quickstep to "The Muppet Show" theme.

When in doubt choose Muppets is my motto Rainbow Connection by Kermit is a fast waltz, perhaps Viennese. The cantina scene from Star Wars is a nice quickstep. I have heard lots of older rock, Led Zepellin and Queen, that is cha cha and I think we danced rhumba to the Police (Sting) Every Move You Make recently.

Have fun!
