My husband and I have been taking ballroom dance lessons for about a year and we really love it. We have one problem--we feel we can't attend most of the ballroom dance parties because he can't take the heat. He gets so hot and sweats profusely. In the classes, we have solved this by just agreeing that he can wear shorts to class. However, this would not be appropriate for the parties. Does anyone know where we can find appropriate apparel that is made from Cool Max fabric or some other type of fabric that would help keep him cool? We would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

I don't think there is any fabric that will keep your husband cool. We all sweat like crazy. What my husband suggests is this: wear black pants, he likes a light weight polyester/cotton blend. Black because the sweat dripping down his back doesn't show. Sweat wicking underwear helps. Towel off frequently and change shirts if they get too wet. My husband wears a white t-shirt under his shirt. It absorbs alot of sweat and keeps his shirt much drier. He does not find that the T-shirt makes him any warmer but he is more comfortable. I wouldn't let sweat stop you from dancing, everyone gets sweaty and no one is offended where we dance.

Try www.dancepants.com
they have various fabrics to choose from
plus the inner leg lining "wicks away" the moisture-sweat you talk about.
The materials are designed for Dancing
and are durable.
