I am challenged with a great deal of ankle pronation when dancing and its frustratingly affecting everything. Are there any exercises or orthotics design for dance shoes available

This is not the correct place to seek the sort of information that you need.

Please consult a physician. You don't want to take risks with your ankles and feet.

I dealt with supination in one of my feet and the doctor gave me a wedge to put in my shoe to lift up the other side of the foot.

I would definitely consult a physician about it though or even an athletic trainer because they'll be able to give you more efficient information and exercises. Ankle problems are a serious thing because usually it means that there's a misalignment in the hips as well. I would have the doctor check out the way you're walking too to see if there's a misalignment going on. Good luck!

I apologize if this is not the corrrect place to seek this kind of information but as a guest, messages and questions are reviewed by a forum moderator prior to posting. So if it was really a bad question it never would have been posted. Of course I may be mistaken in thinking that you are like the rest of us coming here to seek solutions and a.sk questions unless you are a moderator. Yes i have consulted my personal doctor but was clueless in what I was trying to achieve. Thank you Samantha for sharing your story

mysthappen, if the directness of my response offended you then I apologize.

The first statement in my prior response was intended as a warning and not a reprimand. I've seen tons of advice pass through this forum, some of it good and a great deal of it not so good.

If you believe that your personal physician lacks the understanding to help you then you might try asking for a referral to an orthopedist.

What concerns me is that you may follow some well intentioned but poor advice out of a sense of expediency, making your problem even worse and possibly doing permanent damage. I want you to be able to keep dancing.

Good luck to you.
