"Thank You"! I took our advice. We are getting a fresh set of eyes to look at our dancing @ 6: PM. I just really love my instructors, & really never thought of it. She is a Cert. Instructor & Trainer for Comp. for over 20 years. I am wondering is there a place where you can go & check out your instructors?
* Like in my husband's field, anyone can go to Texas State Board of Med. It has any complaints, lawsuits, ect.
So, is there anywhere like that for Dance Instructors? Thanks, again ScottyBoysDoll

I wish!

Getting reliable information about instructors and coaches is not easy. Because so many dancers become emotionally attached to their instructors, the recommendations of other amateurs can't be trusted.

Recommendations from other coaches must also be taken with a grain of salt for several reasons, both jealousy and ambition among them.

You can find some basic information at the NDCA website (assuming that the instructor is a member of that organization) NDCA Directory

I'm not sure about other professional organizations such as National Dance Education Organization or National Dance Teachers Association. I think that there is also some information on this site.

I'm glad that I was able to help.

Thanks! I am kind of nervous dancing for another instructor. I have danced in front of huge crowds, who think it is just beautiful! Her "Trained" eyeballs, are going to see it all! The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! I know you are right, we need to do this. I never, ever thought I would or could be nervous! Darn it I am!! Thanks, ScottyBoysDoll
Postscript: Is there another way to reach you, for a private question.

Think of this instructor as just another source of information to help you and your husband with your dancing.

Nervousness can be good as long as it doesn't become an obstacle.

Good luck.

ALL teachers that have Qualif. with a recognised Regist, Soc. are themselves registered,( I have numbers which may be checked with degree of level )

many of these are easily checked out ( the Soc. will gladly oblige... it promotes their " brand " ).

Teachers who are " chain " school cert. , are a whole different matter. Not impossible to check, but sometimes the background for their training is very obscured .

And by the way, must commend you on your due diligence !
