Hi all,
I have a bit of a problem. I have 2 partners to which I dance different styles with. My first partner doesn't seem to apply herself to our dancing as much as i would like her to. However my second partner is extremely devoted to our dancing. It was raised by my coach to drop my first partner and allow my other partner to pick up her styles, because she wants to dance the other styles as well. But I am really good friends with my first partner, and really don't want to drop her, but I can see myself furthering my dancing career more so with my second partner. What do I do, stay by my friend or further my career? (not meaning to sound cliché)

Keep one for fun, and the other for more
serious type work ( should still be fun )

By the way, thanks for "further ", just had a disagreement with an editor on " Farther / Further ".

He did point out however, that the new O.D.Edition subscribes to the current lexicon transposition of every day usage.
Well, we all know how cliches turn out.

After you drop your true friend and break her heart, you will enjoy dazzling success with your second partner only to learn that she was just using you when she drops you for a Hustle teacher from New Jersey.

Later, when you think that your dance career has ended, your true friend will return and you two will find happiness together dancing the Shag in showcases.

Good luck!

What do you mean by your "dancing career"? Competition? Teaching? I thiink you are going to have to have a talk with partner #1 and outline your goals. Does she even know that you are far more serious than her? Perhaps she doesn't want the pressure and would be content with social dancing. It would be sad to lose her as a friend.
Although, I bet if you live anywhere near Atlanta, JJ would snatch her up in an instant.
