Hem question on dress/skirt:

I hate this small collegiate comp we're going to try out solely for the fact that our wardrobe possiblilties are so severely limited.

I have found, however, a skirt from holyclothing.com that *might* work. Their "mega hem" has a 240-inch hem, and I was wondering, do you lot think that's "big enough" to move around in and do frufy picturelines, oversways, etc.?

If it's anything like the collegiate competition that I attended earlier this year then you won't have room to do picture lines.

Aww, not even... thumbnails? *snerk*

This is "our first rodeo"- very first competition ever, not counting the one with the mirror every day.

If this is a competition how many couples are there on the floor at one time. Or are we talking about the general dancing in between events, which where I live are very few. Plus nobody would try a picture line in a general dance at a competition anyway.

Even in the final?

This is the Dancing Illini competition in Champaign-Urbana. We've never been to a collegiate, only watched the Purdue one on Youtube. We know nothing of this, and as our coaches only did things like Stars, or KC, or Miami, they don't know anything about collegiate competition, either.

It was a ridiculous itch I had to scratch, and we figured we'd give it a shot.

Hope you have fun. Just make sure you have read the rules for the division you will be entering at the specific competition you are entering. Your coaches almost certainly do not know what will be legal in terms of choreography or costuming.
