JJ or T-2 * Is that a Jitterbug ?

On DWTS, the Hough's kids did the Jitterbug. I have never seen the jitterbug so "frantic".*[I have seen clips on youtube that are titled the Super Fast Lindy. Those are college kids going crazy w/ lifts, drops, flings, flops, & all kinds of craziness.]
The Jitterbug that we have been taught is a lot calmer! More like our East Coast Swing. Still upbeat, fun, chipper with the innocence of the 50's.
I like to know the history/character of our dances. I can NOT find the whole "True & Complete" story on the Swing, Jitterbug, Lindy, split into the WCS & ECS. When what happened, in what decade, ect. I tried to "google" history of dance, and did not trust what I found, and it was confusing, w/ overlapping dates! Thanks, ScottyBoysDoll

Sorry, Doll, I haven't watched any of this season of DWTS after the first show.

I agree that it's a treat to watch the Houghs dance together.

Scotty .If you Google " Tricks and Airsteps for Swing Dance Clip " you wil see what the Jittererbug was originally. For the less energetic Google " Jitterbug American Acadamy of Music and Dance " There is a little bit of history there also.
Many years ago I saw a film clip about this group of performers touring the night clubs in America. They were all negro . One of the things spoken about was even though they were the show stopper they had to enter and leave by the tradesmans entrance. This I believe was pre war in the 30's. I seem to remember they were featured in a film with Cab Calloway. What they could do was out of this world.

Speaking of DWTS, it was a mistake to try to pay tribute to the Nicholas Brothers with that choreography! Not even close!!

ONE more time.. I told you to go to Dance Forums.. there is a swing section that has abundant info on ALL genres with history included, in some posts. These posts have been done by academics, NOT teachers... they are well researched .

Ok, awesome, I will go check it out, if it was written by historians, then if I have read any incorrect facts on the other dances, it will set me straight on the facts. Some danceshave long and complicated histories. Thanks
