"Dancing with the Stars" meets "The Biggest Loser."

So, for the first several episodes at least, you'll be watching Tango for Tubbos, Paso Doble for Pot Bellies, Cha Cha for Cheesy Thighs, and Bolero for Beer Guts.

Gee. I can't wait.

My "gut" feeling (Get it? ) tells me that some studio executive is going to lose his job for presenting this obviously half-baked concept.

If people can spend two hours watching people work out in a gym (Biggest Loser), then I'm sure they'll go for this show. After all a huge percentage of people are overweight in North America and dance shows are all the rage. And hey, if it gets people into the studios and off the couch, then I'm all for it.
Hmmm. I doubt that it will work.

Dancing only works as a weight-loss strategy when practiced energetically for at least two hours a day for four or five days a week.

The effort required will probably turn off as many folks as it intrigues.
