in home dance space

Hubby and I will build in the next few years and are planning now what needs to go into our home.

He wants to make a dance space for me and a room 20 x 30 has been considered.

What makes for a good space for dancing? I think this is more than generous, but is smaller possibly just as good?

Dimensions? I like the rectangular space, but don't really know how much space is needed.

Anyway, advice would be welcome!

We plan a closet for the sound equipment, speakers up high and out of the way, and mirrors on one, and perhaps a second wall, so the bulk of the space in the room will remain open for dancing.
