if a guy needed a thirty second lesson on the basics of the Tango could any of you help him out?

No one can learn anything in 30 seconds, let alone trying to do so in a text format like these postings. I'd recommend spending a little more than 30 seconds on the "Learn the Dances" section of this site, and go to the Tango portion.
