Has anyone ordered a dress from Viva Dancewear? I was looking at an inexpensive dress for my first competiton. I'm in the USA but have noticed cheaper dress in the UK or Hong Kong. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have two from them.
A dual purpose for smooth/standard with floats that I can put on or take off and a strictly international gown.
One, I added more stones to myself. The other was good. I'm please with both. OF the two, one was from their X line which means 10 gross of stones. The other from their stoned dress line which means less than 10 gross of stones plus I mixed three elements of three different dresses. You really need to know your measurements well. Mine turned out very nice.

Thanks for your input. I really love a smooth dress that they have. I was thinking of adding more stones to it if I get it.

hmmm, that's what I did on one. Lisa and Clare are great to work with. I did have to change "cups" as I prefer other styles (after I got the dress) - typically I'm never satisfied with that part of any dress - even my designer items (I use my own from my own bras and sew them in). If your dress is a combination of things - they will confirm with photos what you want. Again, make sure of your measurements - that is a most crucial part. For me, adding stones is easy - but they also offer dresses where you can do your own stonework as well. Have fun.

I have had great luck ordering from Rainbow Shiu. They have premade dresses on e-Bay but I always order custom. They ask for a number of different measurements and you can choose to order it with or without stones. The last dress I ordered arrived with the modifications I wanted earlier than the promised date and it fits well. It has a float that is removable but I don't use it as I dance smooth. Both dresses I have ordered along with the Swarovskis I ordered from Joyce or MJ Trim in New York cost less than $500 each. The only thing is the time it takes to stone them. Give yourself a couple of weekends, many good movies and your're all set. For you're first competition it's the way to go especially if funds are limited and you can't wear something off the rack (I'm a size 12). Good luck

Actually I ordered a latin dress from Rainbow Shiu. I am still waiting for it to be finished. My problem is I don't have a lot of time to stone them myself (2 small kids keep me occupied). I can't really order off the rack either (size 12 or 14 depends on how it is cut). Thanks for the input!
