My wife and I have been taking ballroom classes for 11 years and for 6 years have been teaching and choregraphing routines for community events. We are taking a trip to Hong Kong in Oct/Nov. I would like to treat her and have some custom made ballroom dresses made. We're in our early 50's so not looking for something really slinky, but something classy and well made. I might be interested in a dance tuxedo as well if we find the right tailor.

We're looking for someone who understands dancing and cuts and sews for dancers. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

If you would like to have some ballroom dresses made, there are a few
decent dressmakers here charging reasonable price. Just let me know when you are coming and I will show you were to go.
As for the Tux, don't just go to any tailor, they cant get the shoulders right. There is one very good one in Taiwan and all you have to do is fax him your measurments and he will come to HK to give you your first fitting and mail the tux to you. There is also another one who has her factory in China but have a showroom in Hong Kong. Prices are reasonable.

I do not know if this helps but I have heard good things about a company based in the UK called Spot Turn Ballroom - at www.spotturnballroom.co.uk - they list on ebay as well and have very positive feedback.
