Most people think I never compete. Well, they are correct in that I do not compete with other men. (I have no desire to beat anyone.)
However, part of the joy of Social Dancing is that you do compete with yourself.
The challenge is figuring out just which partners can follow well. It they can follow well, and if they are game for something they have not done before, (You have to analize that too.), you can toss a Double Reverse at them.
I get about 90 Percent success with the people I try it with. (If done as described by Alex Moore, this is not a difficult figure.)
What makes it really interesting is that most women who have never done a Double Reverse before, think that they have done it wrong. (This is because they followed a syncopation, when they did not expect to do one.)
When I do it again, I count the timing, and they realize that they did a syncopation. Even so, they are not sure exactly what they have done.
This is but one of the great things about changing partners, and dancing with women who have varying abilities.
