Floats or No?

I am competing in my first competition in a month. I am dancing International Standard. I have a beautiful pink gown that is covered with crystals. I would prefer not to put floats on it, but will I look out of place if it doesn't have them? Please advise!

Would you consider making some arm bands, putting matching crystals on the bands and have hankie style small floats off of the bands. Take a look at the classifieds (ballroom) dresses for sale for ideas. My pro does not care one way or the other if I have floats or not. For me, it's the kind of floats that accent the oh so great dress in standard. Lovely. Not necessary but lovely to accent all the swing and sway and movement in closed frame position.

It depends...most people are wearing them. You don't have to unless it is going to make you feel uncomfortable to be different. I think that which makes you different is that which makes you stand out!
