Pachabel's Canon in D

My sister-in-law will be dancing to Canon in D at her wedding but she doesn't know what dance to use. They were told by a dance studio that it wasn't a waltz, but that seems to work fine. None of us are experienced dancers and I wanted to know if there was anything on this site that she could use to help them. Please respond to jesstrue@aol.com

Thank you and best wishes, Jessica

If waltz seems to work fine, then that's what she should use.

Beginners have total freedom. Experts have total freedom. Those in between want someone to tell them what to do. People in the business of telling folks how to dance are probably going to recommend music more compatible with their instruction. But it's their wedding, so they are welcome to do any step pattern they find fits the music they way.

Well, unless she's using some sort of dance version of Canon in D, it's not strictly danceable. Therefore, she should do whatever comes closest...I would probably go ahead with waltz.
