hi all,
I was wondering: what's your favorite music to dance? And what dances do you like best? which one do you hate/dislike?
My favorite viennese waltz: "hijo de la luna", "second waltz" and "Chim-chim-cheree"(this last one is very funny).
my favortie jive: "shake!" "do you wanna dance?" and "hit the road jack"
I can sing the melody of the song which I like dancing a quickstep most, but I don't know the title of this song. Sorry; if I remember, of course I will tell you.
viennese waltz is my most favorite dance. After this one, I think I like quickstep, salsa and jive best.
The dance that I really dislike, is tango. I think the music is terrible (okay, there are some songs that I like, but there are few) and I don't like the dance itself either.
Dancelove,
Petra

Just think, if the song is 5-6 minutes long then you can do all the syllabus steps.....maybe you can trick your instructor/dance partner with this. See how many different steps he can think of..... could actually turn out to be fun.

Favoutire slow waltz music: Tenderly (a version by the london Starlight Orchestra) and The godfather Theme (this is a bit melancholy, but i love it)
Favourite Fox-trot? Well, i 'discovered' an old Frank Sinatra/Tommy Dorsey song by accident "Without a Song" from 1939!! bit old-fashioned but FABULOUS to dance to - and it lasts about 5 or 6 minutes. But then i'm old-fashioned too

If you want to try something a little different than a strict tempo Rumba to dance to, Try Elton John's "Blessed"" it is a beauty.

Hi Phil,
cool: a dance that lasts about 5 or 6 minutes. but I'm afraid that if I would ask my danceteacher to put on this song, he would fade out the music after 2 or 3 minutes He always does that with viennese waltz and I guess he would do that with such a long during dance too. but this way we don't have the opportunity to become old-fashioned ourselves
good luck with becoming "new-fashioned" again!!!

Petra
