| Just recieved the cd and really like it and find it very useful. However the video quality could certainly be better. Image is fuzzy on some and lighting dark on others. Makes it hard to see some of the footwork. Maybe this could be addressed in future cds. Thanks. |
| Jonathan,
Please notify me when you have these DVD's ready.
I appreciate your help yesterday, and the file you sent. FYI, I have tried this morning, again, to load some of the West Coast Swing steps, with no success. As a test, I loaded a Lindy Hop, which I had never done before. It worked fine.
Also, again, this morning, I tried going into the "MY BDC" area, but got the same error message, saying that the name wasn't found in the database. As I said, in my email yesterday, I got a confirmation from you confirming my user name and password. So, maybe when you have time, you could check this out for me.
Many thanks,

| Tony, The WC Swing clips are some of the oldest remaining clips on the website. If network traffic wasn't the problem, then I'm not sure what the problem is. Sounds like there's some sort of difference between your standalone QT player and your embedded QT player. You might try reinstalling the QT player, making sure to specify in the setup options that you install the QT extension into Internet Explorer, or whatever browser you currently use. Incidentally, you might also try switching browsers to see if that makes a difference. For example, use Netscape intead of I.E. (or vice-versa). On the username and password, you're using the wrong page to log in. You have a Dancetalk account, but you do not have a Ballroomdancers.com user account. Make sure to log in at www.dancetalk.com. | Could you inform me when you will have DVD's ready for fox trot, slow waltz, waltz and tango Thank you and best regards Philippe from Québec (Canada) Originally posted by Jonathan W Atkinson: The bad news is, there will be no more future CD's. The good news is, they will be DVD's instead, so the quality should be much better. We recently filmed some videos of beginning bronze Foxtrot and Waltz, and had a complete set with professional sound, lighting, and backdrop. I even had a suit custom made for the occasion. The next time we film a set of variations, we will use this same set up, and actually provide instruction in addition to the demonstrations. On the website, the variations will be presented the same way they are now, but on the DVD and VHS, they will be full-quality video with complete instruction. Also, because we'll be filming them all at once, we'll be able to plan them as a cohesive unit instead of a bunch of unrelated clippings. For example, we may have 4 Foxtrot variations, each of which will be a self-contained, socially danceable combination. But you'll also be able to put the 4 variations together to create a complete Foxtrot show or practice routine. Because the DVD will be a much higher quality than the current CD-ROM, I expect that we will charge full price for it... probably about $30 to $35 for the DVD. There will probably still be about 15-20 steps per DVD, but if we're really efficient, we may be able to produce a separate DVD each for smooth and rhythm. I'm not sure when our next opportunity will be to film variations, but I hope to have it ready to go in time for the next holiday rush.
