salsa and merengue

hi all,
last wednesday I have been to a salsa- and merenge demonstration and lesson. I never before danced merengue. It's really very simple, but we had fun (maybe because it's so simple?). But for my opinion: salsa is more fun! I already had a few lessons before, so the beginning was a bit boring, but after everyone knew how to dance the basics, I learned a few new variations. And we danced on Cuban music. That's much better than the modern music, like "mambo number 5" from Lou Bega (nothing wrong with that, but on Cuban music, dancing salsa is more fun and more relaxed dancing).
In the future, I hope I will have more often the opportunity to dance salsa on Cuban music and learn some more variations. (by the way: does anybody know some interesting variations?)
Dancelove,
Petra

Peetjedanst,

I like the merengue more than the salsa. Merengue is just more fun.

Salsa is more popular, so most probably better if you learn that.
