I have a question; in which city was the world championship in 1922 made?

Was there even a world ballroom championship in 1922? I've read a couple of books on the history of ballroom but I can't recall if they started having world championships that early. If I get a chance I'll look it up.

According to the 2004 International Dance Directory, the World Championships were held by Camille de Rhynal in Paris from 1909 until 1939. Apparently, they did not become "official" (whatever that means) until 1936, and seem to have only included Standard Ballroom (no Latin).

The International Dance Directory is a good source of information which includes a list of world and U.S. professional champions from 1914 through today. It also includes a very thorough directory of professional and amateur dancers, studios, and places to go dancing around the world. Everybody should have a copy. Reference Victo Sylvester Modern Ballroom Dancing. He mentions that in 1922 saw the last of the cross behind in the Foxtrot and the substitution of the Feather. In other words what is now the Feather was actually a type of lock step. It mentioned London as being the venue for the second and third World Championship.It would appear that the first was also held in London It would seem that from 1925 the most important title to be won was the Star Ballroom Championships organized by the STAR newspaper and also held in London up untill the late 50's.
