favourite music

I am a seasoned music lover who has returned to dj work ... I do not have alot of experience with the ballroom dance scene but would love to learn more .... I want to provide the dancers a variety of music that contains the "proper" dance beats.
I really welcome your favourites .... If I don't have it .. I want to get it.

jive: "shake", "hit the road jack"
quickstep: "way to your heart"
viennese walz: "golden brown", "2nd walz", "hijo de la luna"
I don't know other songs by name, but if I have time (not this weekend, maybe next week, but I'm very busy), I will look up the songs for you
I'm now going to dance.

I didn't have time this week, as I said, I'm very busy. I'm on my saturday-job now, so that's why I saw your message. I'll give you a quick answer on your question: I don't know what you mean with your last question. Mix up as in "a few songs oldies, then a few songs traditional latin music", or as in "oldies in a new version"?

You can find a very good site with name danceplus.com there you can find all type of ballroom and latin music....yes its nice to mix old style music and convert them into modern ones as cover versions. My favourites are Casa Musica and Dancelife.

Ok, now I know someone is going to make fun of me about this, but my very favorite song to warm up to and to have a fun time w/cha-cha is a remix of Prince's "Kiss"
I have no idea where to find this particular remix, but that is definitely a great cha cha song to just have fun to!
