Exercises

Hello! I'm just getting back into dancing after being out for just over a year. I need to find a video or even just some ideas of some exercises to do to regain my shape and definitely flexibility. Any suggestions? I've been doing my cha cha warm up pretty regularly and some yoga/pilates/ballet exercises, but I'd like some directly pertaining to ballroom. Thanks!

Try, doing line dances, there great for getting back into shape. Just chose a dance and do some steps to the music. It gives your legs a good workout, and helps with all around dancing.
P.S Good Luck

hi Sarah
You could try an exercise video put out by the New York City Ballet. This is pretty tough going and incorporates balance, flexibility etc.
As you're probably aware, any sporting-type activity requires general strength, flexibility and aerobic fitness, but also specific fitnesses, depending on the particular activity (in this case, dancing).
You can work on the general fitness at a gym using the elliptic cross-trainer, the step climber and some sensible weights, followed by stretching exercises (there will be a professional at the gym to advise you). Running is excellent to build aerobic fitness, but avoid hard surfaces.
But there will be some things that you can only regain by dancing.
