40 New Variations

You read right...

Today we will film F.J. & Catherine Abaya dancing 20 rhythm variations. Tomorrow they will film us (Jonathan & Melissa) dancing 20 smooth variations. If all goes as planned, this Wednesday (March 10) you will see the first of a new set of variations which will run on Ballroomdancers.com each week right up until the end of 2004!

The best part: We've got a complete studio setup with backdrop, lights and audio. So we won't just be dancing the variations -- we'll be teaching them, too! In April 2004, these variations will be released on VHS and DVD. You will be able to pick up just the smooth, just the rhythm, or get them together as a set.

Stay tuned to this thread, and I'll keep you posted on the progress!

Regards,
Jonathan Atkinson

Lots of new combinations and you're going to teach them, too, rather than just demonstrate them? That sounds pretty good. :) I should take a look to see what they're like now; I haven't viewed them in a long time. It's nice that you're going to be able to offer them for sale as well, but I don't think I'll buy them. I'm not that interested in American style. If you decide to do this for international style though, let me know. A DVD of those variations would be something I'd consider buying. Good luck with the new variations. I hope everything works out well.

Understood. That's why for the VHS version, we'll probably only offer them in NTSC (US) format. We're probably not going to get too much interest from overseas.

As for the international variations... You bettter beleive we'll be on it. Plans are already underway to produce them immediately following the release of the American style videos. I haven't chosen the Latin couple yet, but our Standard couple is ready to go. (-:

In fact, I already know what I'm going to do after the Standard and Latin: A social dance variation video, featuring a different couple for each dance. I'm thinking WC Swing, Lindy, Salsa, Hustle, and Nightclub 2-Step.

Looks like my 2004 is booked up!
