Hey I'm a relatively obsessed Swing/Jive dancer and am desperately trying to hunt down some good CDs to dance to. At the moment I'm into pretty standard stuff, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Cherry Poppin Daddies, I've looked at some the compliations that are about, most of the Latin Jams etc and can't find very much else. Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is not much help to you, but I would love it if you could possibly send some swing dance move ideas, since you seeem to enjoy it so much. It would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Have you heard of Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers? I've been listening to them lately.

A band I adored until they lost their lead singer is Indigo Swing (Albums : "All Aboard" and "Red Light"). Just a good little band. The old lead singer, Johnny Boyd, now has a solo album, though it's a compliation of different styles. Another small band, that I listen to regularly, is Big Time Operator.

A fair amount of Ray Charles stuff is VERY swingworthy!

There's a great Boston based band called The Love Dogs who are a lot of fun, a good mix of jump-blues and a good splash of crime-jazz mixed in.
