Ballroom in Southern California

I have recently relocated to southern Californa from the San Francisco Area and am desperatly trying to find places in the Los Angeles or San Fernando Valley to ballroom dance. I am looking for a place where your own partner is not nessary and all ballroom dances are cover, not just swing which is the rage down here.

I was quite spoiled being in the San Francisco/Bay Area, where you can ballroom any night of the week.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Ballroom! My name is Shari and I work for an entertainment agency in Ft. Lauderdale and we place dance hosts on the most luxurious ships in the world. I am looking for ballroom contacts in San Fran. to contact for cruises we have going out of San Franciso. Can you advise me? Thanks, Shari. 954-462-6760 ext.228

There's a monthly listing named "dance buddies" that gives a description of all the places. Call 818-955-6570 to get info and register to receive their e-mails.

Yes, I'm really upset about this. It's the tail end of 2005 now and we still don't have any real ballroom places. I'm just learning so it's tough to keep going when there isn't a place to go to.

I'm looking too, but I want a place with a good vibe. Diverse is fine, but not a bunch of old people.

There are a few places around LA, but none I'd recommend to anyone. If you know of any that plays a variety of music (not just Latin or just Standard), has a good handful of people under 40, and is in LA/Pasadena, please holler. I'm also looking for a good place to take lessons, but isn't expensive.
