This is a thank you for the great discussion on viennese waltzing.
We won a big waltzing event this weekend when normally we'd get 4th or 5th, and for certain a huge amount of credit is due to you guys on the discussion.
I'd forgotten the 'no-foot-rise' thing, and Dronak's brilliant comment about a low amplitude wave was in my mind. These 'mind pictures' are worth their weight in gold to me.
I'd also gone back to Harry Smith -Hampshire's booklet, which i've not read for over a year, and worked on the correct sway (practising it with my partner in a local corridor just a few hours before the event!)I'd been doing it wrongly for years.
The end result was a nice smooth flowing feel to the dance, which must have impressed the judges.
So - this discussion page REALLY works and many thanks again to you guys.
