Hi,
I'm a fairly new dancer and am really loving it. My question is about dance shoes. I've already bought 6 pairs and am having trouble finding some that are just right for my feet. Is there a secret to this? It seems they are always stiff up by the toes and rub blisters. Also, do you wear or not wear nylons with them? I'm looking for comfort as well as style because I'm going to be doing this for a long time and I want to be able to dance the night away without being in pain. Thanks for your help.

Finding "just right" shoes isn't easy -- I've tried so many different brands! Sometimes you need to try different sizes, too. Sorry I don't have more advice. I don't like to wear nylons when I dance because they make my feet slippery and they rub in an annoying way between my legs. I do like to wear lightweight microfibre tights, though.

Your feet will start to get accustomed to the shoes in time. Avoid getting pedicures for a while so you can toughen up your tootsies! I have found that wearing peds the first few wearings breaks in the shoe just lovely. If you can't stand that... then buy some Dr. Scholl's Moleskin pads and put them around your big toe. They are tan in color so they will go unnoticed for a while. I actually put those on the bottom of my heels as a protector. I used to wear pointe shoes a lot and found all these neat tricks. Hope this helps!
