If you use Google search with these words "ballroom dance costumes" you will get quite a few leads.

For example, I found this one below:

http://www.dancesportballgowns.com/

If you need particular info please just ask. I am not clear if you also need the vintage ballroom costumes and/or Latin costumes of today and yesteryears....etc.

Somewhere someone has a web page that talks about the difference between Standard and Smooth costumes. It might be helpful because it discusses why these costumes are designed the way they are and what the effect is on the dancing and how it looks. Try using Google to search for

difference between Standard and Smooth dresses

and other things that sound like that.

What I need to know is when do you where a long dress and a short one. Is there a certain reason why the dresses are designed the way they are.. Thanks for your info... Pictures of dresses I have plenty... I can't seem to find fact info anywhere. All they have in the library are books on learning how to dance

Hi Monica,

Long dress, a ball gown, is used in International Standard or American Smooth dances. While short dress is used in International Latin American dances or American style Rhythm dances.

As to "Is there a certain reason why the dresses are designed the way they are?", I am sure Laura can give you a much better answer. :)

Anyway, all the dance costumes are constantly changing through the years.

Another point...
The American smooth gown will have more of a large skirt, as the skirt is used in the dance. There is a lot of open dance, and the lady has the opportunity to include the skirt in the dance.

An international standard gown, in at least the lower levels, the frame is not open and you are dancing in a closed position more often. Thus, the skirt is not as full.

Styles do change, though, in both dancing and dress. For instance, "skirt work" in American Smooth is not in fashion on the higher levels, so the women are not wearing their skirts as full. I saw Toni Redpath win her final US Pro title wearing a very straight skirt with really only enough fullness for her to actually dance in it.

Good point...I wonder why that is.

Actually I was at the USABDA regional in Atlanta last week-end, and now that I think of it there was little to no skirt action.
