Men''s Dance Shoes

I'd like some shoes with a higher heel for Standard comps. My partner is quite tall (6ft in her heels!). luckily i'm tall too, but an extra little bit of height would help.
I wear the standard 1 inch heels. Latin shoes have 1.75 inch heels and 'tango'style shoes have 1.5 inch heels.
Would there be a problem dancing foxtrots/slow waltzes in the 'tango' heels? The latin heels look a lot smaller than the standard heels, so i presume these would give me a stability problem.
i have tried adding 1/4 inch to the heel of my practice shoes, and there was no problem with that.
Anybody any ideas?

The idea of a Latin Shoe which has a Cuban Heal is to put the weight foreward slightly which is desirable in Latin. If I try Modern and I have, I would finish on the floor. With a tall lady there is no reason that she can't lower her stance by several inches which is more than you can gain from a shoe.
