A few questions for dance teachers . . .

Hello all,
I'm a college student and love ballroom dancing. Recently I have been thinking about majoring in dance in order to teach. I realize I may not need a degree to teach ballroom, but it can't hurt and it would allow me to teach within the public and private school system. My questions are to all ballroom teachers out there - is it difficult making a living as a ballroom instructor? What kind of training is needed? What makes one teacher more sucessful over another? By that I mean sucessful financially as well as having expertise. And, one last question - if you could have a separate career from dancing and pursue dancing as a hobby vs. dancing as your career, which would you choose knowing what you know now?

Any help you can give will be appreciated!

*****A short answer to your questions above is to have a first place title in world or U.S. major and well known competitions.

As to your last question - "if you could have a separate career from dancing and pursue dancing as a hobby vs. dancing as your career, which would you choose knowing what you know now? "

*****I would find a major that I enjoy studying and is potentially a good career option. And learn as much ballroom dancing as I can on the side.
